EDCO 030- Process for Paraprofessional Counseling
Hey everyone I am currently taking this class and this is a great opportunity if you want to learn a lot about yourself and others and become a leader whether or not you want to be an RA or not. I highly recommend it.
Cyndi
EDCO 030 is a valuable learning experience which provides an understanding of the problems facing college students in the urban university environment. The curriculum focuses on exploring the communication and counseling theories leading to an understanding of the helping relationship among college students.
EDCO 030 IS A COURSE WHICH…
...provides study of communication and counseling with application to many of the toughest dilemmas facing today’s college students.
...provides an in-depth study to create greater sensitivity to issues of multiculturalism and seeks to assist students in exploring their own relationships with all people.
…studies the developmental process of college students which leads not only to more effective understanding in a counseling situation, but provides insights to the participant’s own experiences and those of other students.
...explores the roles experienced as a member of a community.
...furthers an understanding of the participant’s role as a learner.
Beyond the employment opportunities to which the class may lead (such as the RA position), EDCO students consistently indicate the course as a valuable means to understanding one’s own developmental experience as a college student. Often this self-exploration is most meaningful to students who are further along in their college experience.

Japanese Ramen at DAIKOKU
Do you want to try traditional Japanese ramen?
This is one of Japanese ramen restaurants in Little Tokoy.
One of their special food is
pork, bean sprouts, egg, and noodle.
It might taste a little strong for people who try it first time,
but it would be addicting.

FAQs
- What does your organization do?
We represent the voice of the Undergraduate Student Body to the USC administration and to the outside community. We fund other organization’s projects and initiatives, we put on events and concerts, and work on improving student life here at USC. - How do I get involved?
There are many ways to get involved in USG. Please visit the Get involved page for more details or call our office at 213-740-5620. - How can my organization get funded by USG?
Any recognized student organization of USC is eligible to receive funding from USG. Funding boards meet once a week to review applications and grant funding to student organizations. Funding needs to be requested at least 4 weeks prior to distribution of the funds. For more information please see funding. - Where is your office?
We are located in the Student Union, between the USC Ticket Office and Commons (STU 106). Office hours are from 9-5 Monday through Friday. - When and where does USG meet?
Because USG is a large umbrella organization, there are technically USG meetings every day in various locations on campus. Public USG Senate meetings are held every Tuesday in TSC 205 at 7:00. Everyone is welcome to come to these meetings. If you are interested in speaking at one of these meetings or have questions about its purpose or structure, please contact Vice President Sahil Chaudry at schaudry@usc.edu. - How do I file a complaint with the Judicial Council?
Obtain a copy of the Petition for Filing a Judicial Council Claim. Fill out the name of the petitioner(s), the respondent(s), and follow the guidelines to include all complaints, citing specific alleged Student Senate Constitutional or Bylaws. Petitioner(s) must substantiate the alleged violation(s) at the time the petition is submitted. After this petition for a hearing has been formally submitted to the Council, no further evidence will be accepted until after the Council has agreed to hear the case. The petition will be considered and a decision about whether or not the Judicial Council will hear the case shall be made within seven working days after submission, unless extenuating circumstances apply. The Council must meet in person with a quorum of justices present in order to determine whether or not it will hear the case.
If the petition for a hearing is accepted, the petitioner(s) must submit additional evidence substantiating the claim(s) in a timely manner as determined by the Judicial Council and Judicial Council Clerk. After this time period, no additional evidence shall be accepted for review by the Judicial Council.
If the petition for a hearing is denied, no further action shall be taken unless new evidence is presented that convinces the Judicial Council of the necessity of re-hearing the case.
